Eric S. Teitel M.D. F.A.C.G. Dr. Teitel is a Board Certified gastroenterologist specializing in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases and disorders of the digestive tract, including acid reflux diseases (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), celiac disease, and colon cancer. Dr. Teitel is trained and experienced in all endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy, polyp removal and endoscopy (EGD). He has special experience in biliary endoscopy (ERCP), PillCam SB Capsule endoscopy (Pill Camera of the small intestine), Motility studies, and non-surgical hemorrhoid treatment. He also specializes in treatment of chronic liver diseases including cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis C and hepatobiliary diseases. He is Chairman of Medicine at Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt Manor, NY and also has admitting privileges at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, NY.

Dr. Teitel has been in private practice since 1985. He is a graduate of New York Medical College, where he obtained his medical degree. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency and GI fellowship at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.

Dr. Teitel is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American Gastroenteroloical Association, Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterologists, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the Wilderness Medical Society, and Healing the Children.
